In Chinese, 帖(tiè)  refers to the unit dosage of traditional Chinese medicine. Gia Li, an accessories designer based in Taiwan, starts with traditional craftsmanship and combines canvas with water-washed kraft paper to create a series of bags, inspired by various shapes of traditional Chinese medicine packaging.

The following is the project description written by the designer.

“The inspiration comes from a majority of natural, diverse medicinal herbs. Choosing packaging materials has been a crucial technique throughout history. As one of these material choices, producing water-washed kraft paper possesses characteristics that adapt to various properties. Free from any harmful substances, recyclable, biodegradable, and possessing other eco-friendly water-washed kraft paper is an ideal material for internal and external applications. Centered around medicinal herbs, tiè as intention, undergoing a process of deconstruction and reconstruction through modern techniques. The series tiè includes a herb picking backpack, a medicinal-shaped waist bag, a crossbody bag with the appearance of a marinating pouch, a handheld/single-shoulder, and a three-dimensional roll-top bag.”
