A FILMMAKER, A DREAM MAKER
Evelyn Lee (李依霖)(1998) is an artist, photographer, and filmmaker born in Taiwan and currently based in the DMV area. Lee’s areas of study
and artistic practice encompass photography, film, music, literature, and classical painting. Drawing and writing from a young age, Lee’s
early works mainly revolved around bringing the stories she wrote to life through imagery, while maintaining a painterly texture. As her skills
progressed, Lee shifted her focus toward exploring the interplay between narrative development, darkroom techniques, and
shooting moving images in S8mm and 16mm formats.
Lee completed her Bachelor of Design degree in media design and worked in a commercial studio as a student and intern for over two years.
She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography + Media & Society at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA),
which is expected to be earned by 2024.
